Men's Volleyball Tabbed with NCCAA Invitational Status
Greenville, S.C. (Courtesy of the NCCAA) -- The National Christian College Athletic Association’s Administration Committee has approved men’s volleyball as an invitational sport beginning in the 2018-19 academic year. The 2019 Men’s Volleyball National Invitational will be hosted by Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois, January 25-26.
“Sports emerge and the NCCAA continues to watch the trends within our membership and within other associations,” stated NCCAA Executive Director Dan Wood. “The resurgence of Men’s Volleyball amongst our membership is an exciting trend and we look forward to helping grow the sport over the next three years.”
Men’s volleyball held National Invitationals previously from 2000-2005, but participation levels prevented the sport from maintaining invitational status or becoming an NCCAA authorized sport at that time. It is now the second NCCAA invitational sport, joining football’s Victory Bowl Invitational.
