Eligibility Requirements for Intercollegiate Participation

What to do before you are allowed to practice:

  1. You must be enrolled full time (a minimum of 12+ credits undergraduate, 8+ credits graduate) in classes that apply toward a degree program.

  2. Please contact the coach of your sport by email so he/she knows to expect you.

  3. Fill out the Preseason Confirmation Form online (click here)

    • Once the Athletic Office receives your Preseason Confirmation, you will be sent the links and instructions for filling out your Athlete paperwork:

      • ATS paperwork (online)
      • NCAA paperwork (online)
      • Transfer Player Eligibility Statement (transfer students only)
      • Permission to Release Information (transfer students only)
  4. Must maintain student financial account in the Maranatha Business Office at a point that meets or exceeds minimum standards for financial eligibility to participate in co-curricular activities:

    • ALL student-athletes (returning and incoming) – down payment is due August 15th

  5. Be academically eligible to participate in co-curricular activities

  6. Have approval of the Student Life Office to participate in co-curricular activities

  7. Must have earned 24 credits in the prior two semesters and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better.

  8. The NCAA is requiring that all student-athletes submit proof of a sickle-cell trait test. This requirement may not be waived. Proof will be downloaded into the ATS system. Some individuals may find that it is recorded on their birth certificate. Some individuals may need to have the test administered by their physician.

***Transfer Students – Additional Forms: please fill out the following two (2) forms and send to registrar@mbu.edu as soon as possible:

  1. Transfer Player Eligibility Statement

  2. Permission to Release Information

Fall Athlete Deadline for submitting your paperwork: AUGUST 1

All forms are to be submitted online. No paper forms will be accepted.
