MADISON, Wis. -- The Sabercats were on the road this morning at Edgewood College (NACC), who rode the momentum of a 5-goal second half to take home the 7-0 win. With the loss, the Sabercats fall back to 2-4 while the Eagles improve to 3-3 for the season.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoresheet, as Mady Warda tallied her first goal of the season by sending a half-clearance right back into the mixer. Warda's shot found the back of the net, and after 5 minutes, the Eagles had the lead.

The Sabercats' defense held strong until 7 minutes before the end of the half, when Carrie Radomsky found Ashley Siegel, who buried her opportunity to put the hosts up by 2.

Alison Hernandez was trusted with the only 2 chances of the first half for MBU. Hernandez put her shots on frame, but an alert Grace Wildeboer kept Hernandez's attempts out.

The goalscoring came as bookends in the second half for the hosts, as they put 5 goals past the Sabercats' defense. Edgewood scored 3 times in the opening 20 minutes before scoring twice in the final 5. Edgewood boasted 7 different goalscorers throughout the 90 minutes.

"We came up against a great side today in Edgewood," said Coach David Anderson after the match. "We gave it our best shot, but fell short. We will look to learn from our mistake in this game as we seek improvement each and every day."

Next up for the Sabercats is the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Tech., who will host MBU Thursday at 7 p.m. in Chicago. Find details of the all-AD3I fixture at mbusabercats.com/composite
