STORY

The Vikings broke through after just five minutes, as Samantha Tolu beat everyone including Trisha Wright with a quick move at the top of the box before sliding the ball into the empty net for the one-goal lead.

The second goal came past the half-hour mark, as the Vikings pieced together a precise attack up the right side that ended with a first-time shot from Tolu from a low cross. Just a minute later, Tolu completed her hat-trick, finding the corner off of a well-hit shot from the top of the box.

Entering the break, the Sabercats had a mountain to climb, as they trailed the Vikings 3-0.

Right after halftime, Lawrence picked up right where they left off. Two well-placed shots - one from inside the box and one from long range - were perfectly placed into the upper corner of the net for an emphatic statement to start the second half. Once again, the Vikings had scored two goals in quick succession and it was 5-0 for the hosts.

From there, the Sabercats locked it down defensively and saw the game out to the conclusion. Wright was called upon to make a couple of saves late in the game, as MBU was kept off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game, seeing the night out to the tune of 5-0.
