GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Tim Kinzler recorded a career-high 16 saves in one game last week, and after he followed that up with a shutout win, the National Christian College Athletic Association has named him as the NCCAA Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

The junior's 16 saves came against NCCAA North Region rival Moody Bible Institute, as his eye-catching performance kept the Sabercats in the game throughout a 0-1 loss in Chicago. That afternoon, Kinzler made two saves in quick succession on multiple occasions, and his 16-saves mark is good enough for the third-best performance in program history*.

After his career day in the Windy City, Kinzler made three saves in a 1-0 shutout win over Viterbo University on the weekend. The shutout was Kinzler's third of the season, and he has now allowed just two goals in the last five games combined.

Kinzler and the Sabercats will face Moody in a rematch tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. on the MBU campus. Follow live at mbusabercats.com/schedule.
