Callie for Three
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Callie Morrison led Maranatha to its third consecutive regional title last weekend, and the National Christian College Athletic Association has named her as the Division II Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.
This is the third time this season and the fourth time overall that Morrison has earned the honor.
The Jefferson, Wisconsin native had a double-double and 20 points or more in both games of last weekend's North Region Tournament. Morrison averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3.5 steals as the Sabercats took down #4 Emmaus and #2 Calvary for the regional title. Morrison was named as a 1st-Team NCCAA North Region selection and is eligible for All-American selection.
Morrison and the Sabercats have been seeded number five for the NCCAA DII National Tournament, which is scheduled for March 11-13 at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.
