Regional Faceoff
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The NCCAA North Region has announced that the 2020 North Region Women's Soccer Tournament will be a classic one-game, winner-takes-all format between Maranatha and Faith.
The two teams split the regular-season series 1-1, so it's only fitting that the "rubber match" the NCCAA North Region Championship. The matchup will be held at Maranatha November 7 at 11:30 a.m. Central.
Due to travel restrictions regarding COVID-19, Providence University College (Manitoba, Canada) is unable to participate in this year's tournament, so the traditional semifinal-final format makes way to the dual-school duel that will decide the region winner.

Maranatha took a thrilling 3-2 win over Faith in September to open the season. Three of the Sabercats' four losses in 2020 have come by one goal each, the most recent one being a 2-1 loss at Faith on October 10. The Sabercats won't have to worry about Providence this year, so the team can focus completely on Faith and the title match.
Faith is still flying high with momentum from a record-breaking 2019 season. Their 3-3 record in 2020 includes an overtime loss to Grace Christian University, who are the defending NCCAA DII national runners-up. So far in 2020, the Eagles are 1-1 on the road.
