GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Abigail Doak Jeremy Fopma, and Claire Hansel performed exceptionally last Saturday, and for the second week in a row, the Sabercats have landed three student-athletes as NCCAA the student-athletes of the week.

This is the second consecutive week (and this season) that Doak and Fopma have earned the award, and it's Hansel's third NCCAA weekly honor for the 2020 season.

Doak shot up the program-record charts last week, landing in second place all-time with a 20:20 5K at the Jayhawk Invitational, and on Saturday, the junior improved on that PR time by running a 19:59 5K at the Mustang Jamboree in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Doak led the Sabercats Women's Cross Country Team to their best time of the year, and she becomes just the second runner in program history to break 20 minutes in a 5K.

Fopma had a wire-to-wire duel with Pur Biel of Iowa Central last Saturday, as the two went shoulder to shoulder at the Mustang Jamboree. Fopma finished second to Biel, and his time of 25:13 was just nine seconds shy of his PR and the Maranatha Men's Cross Country program record. The transfer from Central College holds the fastest time in the NCCAA DII (25:04 8K) and is just five seconds off of the fastest time in the entire NCCAA.

Hansel marked her final matches in the Maranatha gym in style, averaging over five kills and three digs per set as the Sabercats picked up four straight-set wins against Oak Hills and Faith Baptist on Friday and Saturday. Hansel was honored on Friday as the Sabercats' lone senior, and she helped the Sabercats stay perfect on the weekend, perfect against North Region opponents, and perfect in NCCAA play for 2020.
