Fopma Flies Ahead
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Jeremy Fopma shattered records in October, and he has been awarded the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month Award - an award given in-house at Maranatha in conjunction with the Sabercats' premier sponsor, Pizza Ranch.
Fopma broke his own program record by two seconds at the Bethel Invitational, running an 8K in 26:26 in Indiana on October 9, and he then followed that up with a dominating 25:04 8K at the Jayhawk Invitational in Michigan the very next weekend. That 25:04 was just over a 5:00/mile pace, as the junior beat his own PR by almost a minute, shattering his own program record in the process.
Fopma earned back-to-back NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week Awards for his efforts, as he clearly distinguished himself as the fastest runner in Maranatha Men's Cross Country program history.
