Emily Johnson named Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Emily Johnson was an October standout, and the senior has earned the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month Award - an in-house award from Maranatha Athletics.
The senior from Daggett, Michigan was on everybody's radar in October, as she passed the 3,000 career assists and the 1,000 career digs milestones in the same month. She had already set the program record for assists for Maranatha with 2,884, but she put that milestone well behind, sprinting to the finish of her four-year career with a grand total of 3,500 assists.
Johnson stood out on a weekly basis, as she was named the NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week twice, once on October 2 and the other on October 30.
The Senior finished the month with 441 assists for 9.00 assists/set, and contributed 44 kills, 23 aces, and 150 digs for over three digs/set.
Johnson led the Sabercats to a 7-6 record for the month, and eventually led them to the NCCAA Midwest Region Championship Match, where they took a disappointing loss to Grace Christian.
Johnson finished her career with 299 kills, 3,500 assists, 203 aces, 1,099 digs, and 79 blocks. See her bio by going here.
