WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Maranatha Men's Basketball Team returns to the floor tomorrow night with a balanced squad of returners and new faces, a new region in the NCCAA, and a new start in their bid for a regional championship and a much-anticipated return to NCCAA Nationals.
Coach Rob Fuller returns for his second season, and eight returning players fill out a roster of 13 players. Maranatha welcomes transfer, Will Schultz, into the squad along with four freshmen. From a schedule standpoint, the Sabercats are slated to play 15 NCCAA DII games during the regular season, which is the most in a single regular season on record.
Featured in those 15 games are 10 games in NCCAA DII Midwest competition. Maranatha will play each of their five Midwest opponents twice - once home and once away - during the regular season. That Midwest focus includes a three-day Michigan trip in January, where the Sabercats will play Great Lakes Christian, Grace Christian, and Kuyper College on a Thursday-Saturday stretch.
