THE STORY

Moody: The Sabercats had their most lopsided set win of the season against Moody in the opening match, as Maranatha coasted to a 25-4 win over the Archers. Maranatha earned it, too, as they had an error-less attack in the first set. Thirteen kills and a .765 attack percentage sent a clear message to the Archers: the defending national champions came to play.

The Sabercats met with little resistance over the last two sets, as MBU registered their best attack percentage on the season at .443. The offensive clinic was spearheaded by 10 kills from Johnson, who highlighted the proceedings with a triple-double. Johnson was backed up with eight kills and 10 digs from Claire Hansel, and a nine-kill, four-block match from Gabrielle Carpenter.

Silver Lake: In their second match of the day, the Sabercats' attack just got better and better. Defensively, the Sabercats weren't half-bad either, as they allowed less than 20 kills from Silver Lake throughout the match. McKenzie Janke picked up 15 digs, and she was one of three MBU players with double digits in the digs category.

Johnson was once again on her game, as she logged nine kills, 16 assists, and 10 digs. Karley Johnson distributed 15 assists and nine digs in a match where the Sabercats allowed less than 40 points to fall Silver Lake's way.
