In recognition of his 27 years as the Head Coach of Maranatha Baptist Bible College Wrestling (1973-74, 1976-2003), his commitment to excellence in the classroom and on the wrestling mat, and his faithful testimony on the world stage for the cause of Jesus Christ.

For his dedication to and love of Maranatha athletes and athletic competition.

As an outstanding intercollegiate, international and Olympic athlete, Ben Peterson realized the relationship between excellence in athletics and in one's own relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. His dedication, perseverance, attitude and work ethic have been an encouragement and source of inspiration to multitudes of athletes, students, and parents alike. As a competitor, teacher, coach, and friend, Ben Peterson has touched the lives of countless individuals across America and around the world. Ben's enthusiasm for wrestling, but more importantly his heart and burden for the souls of those whom he has coached and competed against, will ever be a testament to the Lord Jesus Christ and to Maranatha Athletics.
