Career plans/dreams/ideas?

"I was a teacher’s aid this past year and I really got a hands-on experience of what becoming a teacher is really like. I enjoyed every moment of it and am definitely going to miss it this coming school year. My future plans, Lord willing, are to study science more in-depth. After studying at MBU, I plan to become a teacher somewhere."

Who is somebody you admire, and why?

"I admire my parents. My parents were foster parents for many years. When they were in their early twenties, they gave birth to a son. After he graduated high school and left the house, they continued to have foster kids. And then, I came along. At eight months old, my parents got me as a foster child…along with two older siblings. They didn’t want us to be separated so they adopted all three of us. Even though they were on the older spectrum, they worked ridiculous shifts just so that they could be with us kids every moment that they could. My dad worked, and still works, Monday through Friday from 3 am until 1 pm…and sometimes even later. My mom worked Friday through Sunday from 10 pm until 6/7 am. They sacrificed everything so that we could have a Christian education. They paid thousands of dollars for years of music lessons for all three of us. They sacrificed so they could be at every volleyball match and basketball game. They always wanted what’s best for me…they still do. I just hope that one day, I could do the same for my kids."

If you were an animal what would you be, and why?

"Lion…my favorite animal is a monkey…but I would have to say that I’m a lion. I take pride in my family and friends. I would protect them at all costs. I’m a leader when it comes to pretty much everything. I’m not afraid to challenge the status quo."

Do you have any pre-game or game-day traditions or rituals?

"My pre-game or game-day traditions/ rituals is we pray as a team before warm-up and then the starters pray in a huddle. After every play, we always huddle in a circle for a couple seconds to encourage each other and talk about what needs changing."

Complete this sentence: “Good leaders _______________?”

"Good leaders love God and always put Him first. Good leaders aren’t afraid of the unknown. Good leaders are compassionate and are willing to come along side others for the benefit of all. Good leaders are first servants."

What attracts you to MBU (What do you like about MBU?)

"I was initially nervous about leaving home for college. I didn’t like the idea of leaving my parents whatsoever. But, as I visited the college, it felt like home. MBU has strong Baptists morals and standards. All the faculty at MBU really cares about the wellness and spiritual strength of each and every student."
