WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Maranatha's upward hitting trend continued today, but the cold weather and the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors won the day at Washington Park.

David Cripps led Maranatha with 3 hits on a day where the Sabercats stranded 15 runners. All told, Maranatha had 9 hits in the series and 6 hits in the opening game of the day.

THE STORY

Maranatha swung well in the first game and carded 6 hits, but they couldn't buy a run. After stranding 7 runners through the first 3 innings, Maranatha allowed a crippling 4 runs in the top of the sixth. That at-bat cemented the win for the Warriors, who took advantage of 3 Sabercat errors and a couple of singles.

David Cripps led the Maranatha offense by going 2-4 with a double in game one. Sam Ratledge took the loss after allowing just 2 earned runs through 4 innings.

In the second game of the day, the Warriors picked up where they left off by scoring 8 runs in the first two innings. It was all about damage control from that point on, as the Sabercats were held to just 3 hits in the second game of the day. Josh Enevold went 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI in game two, as the Warriors picked up the sweep of the cold April doubleheader.
