STORY

The story of the first half was similar to the second, as Rockford basically doubled Maranatha's score to keep the game well out of reach. The first half was the defensive battle of the night, as Maranatha scored just 18 points and shot just 25 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

At the other end of the court, Rockford's Micah Swanson jumped off the bench to score nine points to lead a well-balanced Regents offense. At the sound of the halftime horn, the Regents held a 34-18 lead.

The second half opened up in terms of the offensive efforts but the terminal damage had already been done. Rockford shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half alone, putting 51 points on the board to seal out the 85-42 win.

Herbster was the danger man for MBU in the second half, as the graduate notched 10 points for the Sabercats.
