GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The National Christian College Athletic Association has announced a realignment of its Division II regions, moving from the existing four regions to a new format of six regions.

The Sabercats will transition from the North Region back to the "new" Midwest Region, with the changes effective at the start of the upcoming 2023-24 season. The changes only impact the five sports that currently compete on the regional level on a regular basis: Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, and Men's and Women's Basketball.

Maranatha's other five intercollegiate sports either do not compete at the regional level or do not have a regional championship with a direct impact on the national level.

Joining Maranatha in the new region will be Emmaus Bible College (Dubuque, Iowa), Grace Christian University (Wyoming, Mich.), Great Lakes Christian College (Lansing, Mich.), Kuyper College (Grand Rapids, Mich.), and Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, Ill.).

Emmaus and Moody are the only other schools from the North Region to join the Midwest. The remainder of the North Region institutions will join the giant North Central Region, which consists of 12 schools from the greater Midwest and North Central areas.
