FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Sabercats dropped both matches against Wabash and Marian today, losing 3-0 both times.

In the Marian match, Phillip Holbrook led the offense with seven kills, while Zach Mueller logged 12 assists.

STORY

Maranatha began the Saturday games with a match against Wabash, who had dropped their first and only match of the season on Friday. Wabash turned their misfortunes around against the Sabercats, however, as they quickly jumped out to a lead in the match. Before long, Wabash had swept the Sabercats 3-0, leaving Maranatha in a tough position for the second game. (Stats and box score for MBU vs Wabash TBA)

The Sabercats then faced an undefeated Marian team that quickly proved why they are undefeated. The Marian Sabres hit the 20-point mark as the Sabercats reached 10 points, then quickly wrapped up the first set 25-11. The next two sets were much of the same, as Marian would score about two points for every Maranatha point, winning the sets 25-14 and 25-13. In the loss, Phillip Holbrook smashed seven kills, and Zach Mueller set up 12 assists.
