Johnson Named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Emily Johnson orchestrated four home wins for the Sabercats Women's Volleyball Team last week, and the National Christian College Athletic Association has awarded her with the title of NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week.
Johnson, a junior out of Daggett, Michigan, was at the heart of a four-win weekend for Maranatha, as she dished out a career-high 58 assists in the Sabercats' thrilling 3-2 win over Mount Mary. Johnson followed that up with stellar performances against Spurgeon and Faith, as the Sabercats beat the Knights before topping the Eagles two days in a row for their thirteenth straight win.
The award marks the first week that a Sabercat has earned the honor for the 2022 season. And Johnson received the award exactly one year ago tomorrow.
Johnson and the Sabercats are already preparing for the 2022 NCCAA North Region Tournament November 7-8. Regionals will be held at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.
