More for Morris

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Robert Morris University overpowered the Sabercats tonight, winning in straight sets on the MBU campus.

RMU started strong and never looked back, taking each set by the same score.

  • Results: Maranatha 0-3 Robert Morris (16-25, 16-25, 16-25)
  • Venue: MBU Gymnasium
  • Location: Watertown, Wis.
  • Attendance: 121
  • Records: Maranatha (0-16), Robert Morris (11-10)

The Eagles started off strong, slamming down 16 kills in the opening set to take a commanding 25-16 win.

The Sabercats had trouble navigating the Eagles' defense, and while Maranatha limited Robert Morris to 17 kills through the second two sets, the Eagles found other ways to get the job done, posting 11 aces and five blocks on the night.

Derek Wallis compiled five kills, but that was the highest mark for MBU - a microcosm of a hard night of work for the Blue and Gold.

Robert Morris has faced and even beaten some Top-10 NAIA competition this season, and their quality showed on the MBU campus tonight.
