WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. - The Sabercats fell back to 1-4 as they could not overcome the hard-charging Patriots of Morthland College. In a homecoming atmosphere in West Frankfort, Illinois, the Patriots bested the Sabercats 42-10.

How it Happened
- 1st Quarter
- David Fenton put the Sabercats on the board first, as the South Bend native knocked a 26-yard effort through the uprights to give MBU a 3-0 advantage that would hold for the duration of the first quarter (3-0)
- 2nd-3rd Quarter
- Enter the hosts, as the Patriots put together an inexorable 34-0 run throughout the course of the next two acts. One touchdown came after the Sabercats coughed up the football, as Timmonte Gibbons recovered the fumble for a touchdown. The short and long running game produced three touchdowns for the hosts, and Morthland's final two touchdowns came through the air as they boasted an unpredictable offense (3-34)
- 4th Quarter
- The Sabercats did put consolation points in lights, as Arron McCaskill hauled in a five-yard pass from Joshua Hill (who was at the QB role for the majority of the day) to move the Sabercats to double digits (10-34)
- The Patriots answered with the final points of the day as the followed their final touchdown with a two-point conversion to cap off a convincing win (10-42)

- Matt Wetzel and Ben Schulz posted 13 tackles each
- Schulz forced two fumbles while Wetzel notched three tackles for loss
- Clayton Morrison notched two interceptions to cap off a strong showing for the Maranatha Baptist Academy products
