- Venue: Maranatha Baptist University

How it Happened
1st Quarter
- On their second drive of the game, the Sabercats broke the deadlock. After Josh Hill connected lasers to Clayton Morrison and Timothy Lacock, the QB from Ohio finished the drive with an 11-yard rush through the heart of the Lions defense. After a David Fenton Kick, the Sabercats had the seven-point lead with just over six minutes on the clock (7-0)
- The score for the Sabercats was the only time that either team had a real chance, as a defensive standoff was the story of the first quarter.
2nd Quarter
- Hill's arm was key in the opening drive of a big second quarter for the Sabercats. Hill connected with Arron McCaskill for a key first down, and Jonah Bueltel rushed wide for a touchdown on the very next play as the Sabercats doubled their lead (14-0)
- After big rushing gains by Bueltel, Frankie Martinez, and Hill, the Sabercats were poised at the Lions' 22-yard line. MBU had to fight off a penalty, but would score just three plays later when Hill connected with McCaskill for the first Sabercats' first touchdown through the air on the day (21-0)
- The Sabercats beat the clock to record their fourth touchdown of the day. After a big gain from Bueltel to Jowan Williams, Clayton Morrison snagged a contested 14-yard pass from Hill to put the Sabercats out of reach (28-0)
3rd Quarter
- David Fenton easily swept in a 39-yard field goal just four minutes into the third quarter, and the Sabercats increased their lead to 31 (31-0)
- Trinity's powerful running back Cade-Carter scampered through the middle of the Sabercat defense with six minutes left in the third quarter. After Devon Steuerwald broke up the two-point conversion, the Sabercats mainained a comfortable lead (31-6)
- McCaskill recovered a fumble forced by Jedidiah Marsh at the Lions' 26 to give the Sabercats preferable field position to start their final drive of the quarter.
4th Quarter
- Fenton knocked in a 34-yarder after the drive switched to the other end of the field. With 14:51 on the clock, the Sabercats had nearly restored their 30-point lead (34-6)
- Hill continued his impressive game with an interception on Trinity's next drive, but the Sabercats could not take advantage.
- The Lions took advantage of a pass interference penalty on their next drive, and once again scored on the ground. After Clayton Steuerwald sacked the Lions' QB to deny the two-point conversion, the Sabercats still held a 22-point lead entering the last 10 minutes (34-12)
- Once again, the Sabercats did not capitalize on a Lions' turnover, as Morrison's pick in the backfield eventually came to nothing.
- Determined running from the Lions' Jeremy Hill set up another good chance for the visitors, who utilized the short running game again for a three-yard rushing TD (34-18)
- Despite outscoring the Sabercats 18-3 throughout the end of the game, the Lions could not overcome the early Sabercat dominance, and MBU successfully closed out the game to earn their third win of the 2016 season (34-18)
