DEERFIELD, Ill. -- The Sabercats lost momentum in the second quarter and never recovered today, as they took a 38-62 loss at NCCAA DI Trinity International University.

STORY

Maranatha started the game right on pace with the hard-working Trojans, winning the opening act 13-12 thanks to a well-balanced offense. So far, so good.

But without warning, the Sabercats' shooting went stone cold in the second quarter, as they managed just two points, going just 1-13 while turning the ball over seven times. At the other end of the floor, Trinity capitalized by shooting 7-14, putting up 18 points to the Sabercats' two to go into halftime with a 30-15 lead.

The only shots from the field that the Sabercats connected on were deep ones, as Katelyn Morrison and Callie Morrison both hit three-pointers in the third. The Trojans had thrown the Sabercats off their rhythm, forcing the Blue and Gold to go just 3-30 from inside the arc from the start of the second quarter to the sound of the final horn.
