WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats fell in both games against Wisconsin Lutheran on Tuesday, suffering 16-1 and 16-0 losses.

David Cripps drove a massive RBI double to the wall for the Sabercats' only run of the day.

STORY

The Sabercats were in the game during the first few innings, only down 4-0 after three against a great-hitting Warriors lineup. Then, the defense fell apart and Wisconsin Lutheran scored five runs off one hit in the fourth. The defense continued to fall apart in the fifth but finally fixed itself in the latter innings of the game, committing five errors from the fourth inning on.

Meanwhile, the offense also struggled to score runs. The only Sabercat run on the day came in the bottom of the fifth when David Cripps ripped a double to the wall with Micah Bailey on third base, able to easily score. After that, the offense was never able to recover and the Warriors took game one 16-1.

Game two was not unlike the first. The Warriors scored four runs in the first off just two hits and several hit batters and walks. The Maranatha defense once again struggled in the second, not helping the situation from the first inning. Nate Croswell came on in relief in the third with the bases loaded but got the double-play ball. Croswell would go on to eat up the rest of the innings for the day, but the damage was already done. The offense was not able to build off the fifth inning from game one. Maranatha's first and only hit of game two came on another Cripps at-bat, a liner ripped up the middle for a single. But the Warriors were able to shut down the offense to hold Maranatha at that one hit in the 16-0 loss.
