Sent Fishing

MEQUON, Wis. -- The Sabercats were sent fishing on the shores of Lake Michigan tonight, as they were swept by a revitalized Concordia-Wisconsin squad.
The three-set loss came as an extra disappointment to MBU, who beat CUW twice last season.
- Result: Maranatha 0-3 Concordia-Wisconsin (14-25, 11-25, 14-25)
- Venue: R. John Buuck Fieldhouse, Concordia University-Wisconsin
- Location: Mequon, Wis.
- Attendance: 416
- Records: MBU (0-6), CUW (4-2)
CUW had already proven themselves to be an altogether different squad than they were last season. With wins over North Park, Greenville, and Hiram, the Falcons have been building a newfound reputation this season. So once the Sabercats were behind 9-19 in the first set, they knew this wasn't the same Falcons squad from 2018.
CUW needed just over an hour to finish the job, as their 5-1 rotation posted a formidable 42 kills off a .341 attack percentage. On MBU's side of the net, Taylor Dafoe distributed 10 assists, and Derek Wallis led the attack with four kills.
