As it turned out, the Sabercats' defense kept them in the game against a skilled Bulldog squad. A balanced and scrappy Sabercats' defense passed the ball where they wanted to, which enabled an above-average attack on the night. Derek Wallis led MBU all the way around, logging a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. And in the middle of everything was Taylor Dafoe, who handed out 24 assists in the contest.

The match ended with a 3-0 win for Adrian, but the Sabercats challenged their hosts, posting nine or 10 kills per set to stay in the match. Isaac McKee registered seven kills and three blocks while Rory Massey notched five kills and eight digs.

MBU's mark of 29 kills was a season-best mark for a three-set match this season, but it wasn't enough to supply the win. Adrian knocked down 39 kills in the match to take home the straight-set sweep.
