STORY

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Maranatha ran their best race of the season today, despite facing a lot of tough competitors at the Bethel Invitational. Every Sabercat ran their season-best time, while Shem Abdnour, Curtis Finkand Felipe Diaz all achieved new career PRs.

For the third race in a row, David Cheloudtchenko was the first runner to finish for the Sabercats with a time of 30:17. The Maranatha team finished 16th out of 18 with a total of 512 points. Indiana Wesleyan came in first on the day with only 18 points. Their own Braden Sweet's crossed the line first with a time of 24:48.

On the girl's side, Natalie Shetter was the leader of the Sabercats, running the 5K at a time of 21:50. Not only was this her own personal record, but she also broke into Maranatha's all-time Top-20 (15th spot). Although the women already qualified for nationals as a team last week, Lauren Young earned herself an individual invitation, running a time of 24:14.

The women finished 14th out of 17 teams with a total of 431 points. Addi Dewey of Indiana Wesleyan came in first on the day with a time of 18:41. Indiana placed first overall with a total of 38 points.
