STORY

It was a tough loss for the Sabercats to swallow tonight as they went down to an NCCAA North Region rival on their home court. The men have yet to receive their first win this season, but this loss was nothing to be ashamed of.

It was Maranatha that actually jumped to a lead in the first half. And for close to 10 minutes, they were able to stay on top. But Emmaus had a hot hand and once they took the lead the Sabercats were unable to take it back. Going into halftime, the Eagles had pulled away to give themselves a decent cushioned lead of 40-26.

But the Sabercats came out of the locker room strong and with the help of Noah Jenson and Jataz Gray, Maranatha was able to cut the deficit to just 3-points with 11-minutes to go. Taz had one of his best halves of the season so far, shooting 80% from the field. In just the second half, he sank 8 jumpers and added in a 3-pointer for good measure.

At the end of the night, Maranatha was just not able to push their way back on top. For every shot we made the Eagles seemed to have an answer. Emmaus shot just under 50% from the field on the night.
