Herbster Named Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Malachi Herbster was the key man for the Sabercats in Janaury, and the senior has earned the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month Award - an in-house award from Maranatha Athletics.
The graduate out of Ringgold, Louisiana was the only Sabercat to put up double-digit points in every game during the month, averaging 13.8 points per game while putting up a month-high 22 against Finlandia on January 12 - his second-best mark this season.
Herbster registered two double-doubles, one against Finlandia and one against Moody. His Moody performance of 14 boards was a career-high mark. All told, Herbster averaged 7.5 rebounds per game and shot .450 from the floor.
The Sabercats look forward to the next three games, all against NCCAA North Region opponents, in an effort to restart a winning streak as they look toward NCCAA regionals.
