WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Mount Mary University rolled into Watertown on a mission and rolled out with a couple of wins Saturday afternoon, winning both Parents' Day games in five innings over Maranatha.

The Blue Angels scored early in both games, winning 8-0 and 16-4 after a barrage in the second inning of game two.

STORY

The first game was a matter of early work for Mount Mary, as they scored seven of their eight runs in the first two innings combined. Lillian Fay was the primary protagonist, picking up where Lauren Nylund left off the night before. Fay homered, went 3-4, and scored three runs in the first game to lead Mount Mary.

Maranatha put five hits on the board, including two hits from Krysten Lawver and a double from Liberty Bailey, but the closest the Sabercats would come to scoring was stranding two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the second.

The second inning decided the second game more than anything else. Mount Mary scored 13 times in the inning alone before Shawna Butler smashed a three-run homer in the third to conclude the scoring for Mount Mary.

The Sabercats' parting shots were a four-run stretch in their last three at-bats as a team. Lawver went 2-2 and Dani Chaney registered two RBIs and a run while batting 2-3 in the second game of the day.

All in all, it was a clean season-series sweep for Mount Mary, who held the Sabercats to just four runs in the four-game stretch.
