WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Oak Hills earned a 66-54 win over Maranatha in last night's home opener.

Despite the loss, Katelyn Morrison still put up impressive numbers. She finished with 24-points, just one point shy of her career high. Freshman Sarah Ureke set her new career high with 14-points on the night.

STORY

It was another rough night for the Sabercats who just couldn't seem to put a handle on the ball in the first half. Despite getting the first points on the board with a layup from Annie Herbster, the Sabercats quickly fell behind due to the 10 turnovers they gave in the first quarter. That 2-0 start is the only lead Maranatha would see all night.

At the end of the third quarter, the Sabercats had cut their deficit to 11. With 10 minutes to go and the entirety of Oak Hills team in foul trouble, Coach Brown stressed to his team the need for aggression with the ball. As Katelyn Morrison and Sarah Ureke took charge and began pushing the ball up the court, the Wolves started to drop one-by-one. Eventually, Oak Hills had no more help from the bench and the Sabercats were looking at a game of 5 on 3.

Even with the number advantage, Maranatha was not able to close the gap with the time they had left and faced a 66-54 loss.
