STORY

Trinity showed that they were ready to play in last night's game. They came out strong, pushing the ball up the court and pressuring the Sabercats on defense, which led to multiple Maranatha turnovers early on. After a 9-0 run to start the game from Trinity, Maranatha needed to spend their first time out after only 2 minutes of play.

The Sabercats finally were able to find themselves on the board thanks to a couple of free throws from Kyria Teachout and Sarah Ureke. But they had already found themselves in a deep hole that was going to be hard to dig themselves out of.

The second quarter went a little better, as the Sabercats finally started to find the board. Freshman Delaney Thompson, who just recently joined the team, came off the bench and gave her team something to cheer about as she drained two baskets to finish off the half.

While Maranatha could not ultimately pull off a comeback, there were still some good takeaways. The Sabercat bench gave their team decent minutes, helping in the areas where the starters were struggling. They crashed on the boards and pulled in almost half of the total rebounds for the Sabercats. Katelyn Morrison made some history after recording 2 steals in the game. Those steals put her at 100 career steals... MILESTONE ACHIEVED!!!

The Sabercats will work the rest of the week in preparation for the Faith Christmas Classic this weekend where they will play two NCCAA North Region matchups.
