STORY

After a tougher match than expected on Thursday, the Sabercats used the motivation of their parents in the stands to fuel an absolutely dominant route of Emmaus tonight. They immediately scored five quick points before Emmaus even got on the board. Not five minutes later, the score was 20-2, and steamrolled their way to a first set victory of 25-6.

Emmaus stepped up a bit in the second set, keeping it close for most of the set. Maranatha built a six-point lead, but the Eagles were able to erase it after a few minutes. Then the Sabercats built another lead and quickly finished off the set with a few with kills from Mattie BumpusEryn Bates, and Caitrin Kemlo, while also forcing several Eagle hitters to commit attack errors.

The Eagles stepped up again in the third set, even gaining the lead twice in the set. But Maranatha remained resilient, as Melanie Woller and Jennifer Rueb hammered kills to keep the score close. As the score started to even out at 18-19, clutch kills from Bates and Bumpus helped the Sabercats take back the lead. The Maranatha net defense would force a couple more errors from the Eagle offense to take the third and final set, completing the sweep on Parent's Day.

With the parents watching, the Sabercats gave them the gift of a dominant performance as a reward for their investment in their lives.
