GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Emily Johnson orchestrated two wins for the Sabercats Women's Volleyball Team last week, and the National Christian College Athletic Association has awarded her with the title of NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week.

Johnson, a sophomore out of Daggett, Michigan, orchestrated the attack for the Sabercats en route to a two-win week at home, dishing out 8 assists per set and 2.5 digs per set as Maranatha took advantage of their only two home games of the season. Johnson and the Sabercats topped Mount Mary in five sets last Thursday night before sweeping Emmaus the night after. Johnson's setting prowess fueled a 26.9 attack percentage in the Sabercats' win over Emmaus.

The award marks the first week that a Sabercats has earned the honor for the 2021 season.

Johnson and the Sabercats are already preparing for the 2021 NCCAA North Region Tournament November 4-6. Regionals will be held at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota.
