Johnson Named Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Emily Johnson's performances in September were a step above solid, and the sophomore setter has earned the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month Award - an in-house award from Maranatha Athletics.
Johnson passed the 1,000 career-assist mark during the month, and she compiled an impressive 417 assists for the month. For good measure, Johnson added 23 aces, 56 kills, and 118 digs.
The Daggett, Michigan native helped the Sabercats turn around after losing the first eight matches in the month, as they finished the month a 6-2 and climbed into the NCCAA Top 10 Rankings.
Johnson and the Sabercats now look forward to Thursday and Friday and their first and only home games of the season.
