WATERTOWN, Wis. --- On a pleasant afternoon in Watertown, the AD3I leaders from Finlandia University grabbed three wins over the Sabercats, winning 9-1, 18-7, and 12-6 in a tripleheader at Brandt-Quirk Park. 

With the wins, the Lions improve to 22-12 while the Sabercats fall to 7-22 for the season. 

In game one, FINNU's Kassandra Avila was characteristically stingy from inside the circle, as the 13-6 pitcher allowed MBU to record just three hits throughout. Two of those came from the trustworthy bat of Hannah May, and Maisy Alldredge put herself on base as well with a looped single into right field. Tina Kolinski's 11-game hitting streak came to an end, as Avila proved to be both accurate and unpredictable for Finlandia in game one.

Behind Avila's work, the Lions showed discipline at the plate, as they pushed four runs across in the first inning, then added steadily throughout the game to cap off the 9-1 win. FINNU's Makenna Lloyd recorded two triples in game one. (1-9)

In the second game, the two teams traded a trio of runs in the opening frame. For MBU, Harmony Bailey brought in Kolinski and Katelyn Hockema with a frozen rope triple to center field. Bailey was then promptly brought home via a single from Allison Epperly. 

Bailey later recorded another extra-base hit to drive in another run, and was once again brought home by Epperly, who recorded her third RBI of the game when she brought home Bailey and May. 

That was where the fun would stop for MBU, however, as Finlandia scored multiple runs in each of their final three innings at the plate. May did give MBU something to smile about in the seventh, as the freshman Yooper smashed her fifth homer of the year, but the Sabercats' further attempts at a comeback fell short as Finlandia sealed the win. Finlandia hit the ground running in game three by scoring six runs in the opening inning. Bailey notched another RBI in the bottom of the first, and MBU soon made it a one-run game in the bottom of the third. RBI singles from Hockema and Brooke Campbell, coupled with an RBI triple from Epperly, were all highlight moments from that four-run inning.

To the Sabercats' chagrin, the visitors pulled away in the final four innings by steadily posting six runs in their final four at-bats. Emily Nguyen was a key difference-maker in game three, as she registered three RBIs to lead Finlandia in the final event of the day.
