WATERTOWN, Wis. -- This game was locked up from start to finish, as the Sabercats put on another unstoppable display on their home court.

With a 71-28 win, Maranatha allowed their fewest points in a game since the 2016-17 season, and they are looking like a force to be reckoned with as Regionals approaches.

OVERVIEW

  • Result: Maranatha 71-28 Holy Family
  • Venue: Maranatha Baptist University
  • Location: Watertown, Wis.
  • Attendance: 111
  • Record: MBU (16-3), HFC (5-24)

STORY

The majority of the scoring came in the first half, as the Sabercats put up over 20 points in the first two quarters while limited the Lakers to just 20 total. As is their M.O., the Sabercats shared the scoring, as none of the Sabercats' eight different scorers broke the 10-points mark in the first half.

On the night, the Sabercats would limit the Lakers to shooting under 15 percent, and the Blue and Gold constant subbing kept the Lakers out of breath and off the mark in the second half. Maranatha would eventually allow just four points per quarter in the second half, and Kelsey Johnson (15), Callie Morrison (12) and Regina Anderson (12) all led the scoring on the night for MBU. Anderson's 12-point, 10-rebound performance was a career-high in both categories, and it was the freshman's first career double-double.

All in all, it was the Sabercats' biggest margin of victory this season, and they will look to ride the momentum into the regional tournament.
