STORY

Neither team backed down early on as the score remained within three points for the entire first quarter. Turnovers and fouls allowed both teams to score time and time again, but the Eagles just barely edged out the Sabercats 18-15 at the end of the first. Maranatha continued to fight throughout the second quarter, keeping themselves within three until the final two minutes, but foul trouble and turnovers allowed Emmaus to extend their lead to six at the halftime buzzer.

When the teams came back to the floor, Emmaus had a fire under them that allowed them to push their lead to 11 within the first two minutes. Katelyn Morrison and Callie Morrison both kept their team in the game with some key baskets, but the Eagles were able to push their lead to eight at the end of the third quarter.

Then the switch flipped in the fourth, as the Sabercats made huge defensive stops and sank several clutch shots. Jillian Brown grabbed three rebounds in the fourth to reach a career-high 10 rebounds, and Katelyn dropped 11 of her 24 points in the fourth quarter alone to help the Sabercats rally with 19 points in the fourth. But as they clawed their way back into the game, Maranatha's last-second shot was no good, resulting in a narrow 65-64 Eagles win.
