PARTICIPANTS

The tournament will be single-elimination, with the top two seeds earning byes to the semifinal. Below is an overview of the field, with seedings based on the NCCAA Power Rating SystemWhile Providence University College did not meet the required minimum contests to be included in the power rankings, they were granted an exception for both schools as an allowance for cancellations due to COVID-19.

Institution Location                   Nickname    Record      Power Rating     2021 Finish
#1 Emmaus Dubuque, Iowa Eagles 13-9 1.941 Semifinal
#2 Trinity Bible  Ellendale, N.D. Lions 16-7 1.899 1st Round
#3 Providence Manitoba, Canada Pilots 7-7 * DNP
#4 Maranatha Watertown, Wis. Sabercats 5-16 0.204 Champion
#5 Central Moberly, Mo. Saints 7-17 -0.244 Semifinal
#6 Calvary Kansas City, Mo. Warriors 1-20 -1.263 Runner-up

*Did not meet game minimum for power rating system

Emmaus (13-9) comes into the tournament as one of two teams with a winning record. The Eagles finished as semifinalists last year after an overtime loss to Maranatha, so needless to say, they will be gunning for some sweet revenge.

The Eagles open play in the semifinal at 3:00 p.m. on Friday against the winner of #4 Maranatha/#5 Central.

Trinity Bible (16-7) holds the strongest record of any team in the field and will be looking to pull off something special for their first-ever North Region title. The Lions are the hottest team coming into the tournament, as they've won six from their last seven.

The Lions open play in the semifinal at 1:00 p.m. on Friday against the winner of #3 Providence/#6 Calvary.

Providence (7-7) is the unknown factor entering the tournament, as the Pilots have played the entirety of their schedule north of the border. The Pilots did not participate in last year's tournament due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Pilots will open play at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow against #6 Calvary.

Maranatha (5-16) is historically the best program in the region in terms of championships, as they have captured 10 regional titles since 2010. The Sabercats have struggled to stay consistent this season and hold a 4-5 North Region record.

The Sabercats open play tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. against #5 Central.

Central (7-17) finished as a semifinalist in last year's North Region Tournament and come into this weekend with a point to prove after taking two straight losses at last weekend's Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament.

The Saints open play tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. against #4 Maranatha.

Calvary (1-20) seems an anomaly after finishing as North Region runner-up last season. The Warriors come into the tournament with a 1-20 record which includes 11 winless games against North Region opponents this season.

The Warriors open play tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. against #3 Providence.
