WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats Women's Volleyball Team has a new head coach, a group of new players, and an exciting look ahead at the 2023 season.

Interim Head Coach Mattie Bumpus steps in for her first season at the helm, as was announced over the summer, and the Sabercat standout will be looking to capture a regional title and beyond as the season approaches.

"With the help and mentoring of my coaching staff, I want the team to be able to look back and see how much fun they had together, that they left everything on the court, and of course, bringing home a Regional banner would be nice too," Bumpus said over the summer. That regional banner will represent the new Midwest Region, in which the Sabercats will go toe to toe with Emmaus, Grace Christian, Great Lakes Christian, and Moody in a five-team region. 

The Sabercats will push to claim the title of NCCAA Midwest Regional Champion on November 3-4 as they compete for the Midwest Region crown in Chicago, Illinois at Moody Bible Institute. The winner will travel to Missouri later in November for a shot at the NCCAA DII National Title.

AT A GLANCE

• The team only returns 5 student-athletes from last season.
• Ten new faces round out the roster.
• The schedule features 12 NCCAA contests in the regular season.
• NCCAA Regionals will be held at Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, Ill.) on the weekend of November 3-4.
• NCCAA DII Nationals will return to Joplin, Missouri, November 15-18.
