2023-24 Women's Basketball Season Preview

SCHEDULE | ROSTER | DOWNLOADABLE CALENDAR

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Maranatha Women's Basketball Team returns to the floor tomorrow night in a new region in the NCCAA, and it's almost an entire squad of returning student-athletes for the 2023-24 season

Coach Paul Brown welcomes 10 returners to the squad, making the only freshman, Paige Joiner, a headline-grabber just by being a new player. Katelyn (Morrison) Brown returns for her fifth season and is surrounded by regular contributors Kyria TeachoutSarah UrekeChloe SteuerwaldKaili Swaffer, and Lindsay Mikkelson, to name a few.

Quite the change from last year. Going into that season, Brown and Teachout were the only two returners.

Compare this year's Men's Basketball schedule to the Women's Basketball schedule and you'll find a near-identical slate, as the Sabercats will play 13 NCCAA DII games during the regular season, which is three more than last year and the most in a single regular season on record.

Featured in those 13 games are eight games against NCCAA DII Midwest competition. Maranatha will play each of their four Midwest opponents twice - once home and once away - during the regular season. That Midwest focus includes a three-day Michigan trip in January, where the Sabercats will play Great Lakes Christian, Grace Christian, and Kuyper College on a Thursday-Saturday stretch.

  • NCCAA Regionals will be held in Lansing, Michigan February 29-March 2
