GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Freshman phenom Amelia Schroder scored five goals in two games last week, and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named her as the student-athlete of the week for Division II Women's Soccer.
The Stillwater, Minnesota native became the first Maranatha Women's Soccer player to score four goals in a single game, netting a quad against Spurgeon College to fuel a 5-1 win on the weekend. Schroeder fired off six shots on goal in that game, scoring the first four for the Sabercats.
Prior to that, Schroeder scored the game-winning goal against Mount Mary University to finish the week with both game-winners for Maranatha.
Schroeder's heroics gave the Sabercats Women's Soccer Team their first two wins of the season and some much-needed momentum to close out the month of September. She now leads the team with nine goals in eight games for the 2023 season.
