GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Emily Johnson and Megan Miller stood out in the Sabercats' three-win weekend in NCCAA Midwest Region play, and the duo has swept the weekly awards from the National Christian College Athletic Association, earning student-athlete of the week honors for NCCAA DII Women's Volleyball.

Johnson earned the division's offensive student-athlete of the week award while Miller earned defensive honors. This is the first time on record that Maranatha has swept the weekly awards by earning both offensive and defensive student-athlete of the week in the same week.

Johnson was a standout in the setter position, averaging over 10 assists per set as the Sabercats beat Emmaus, Grace, and Moody - all opponents from a competitive NCCAA Midwest Region. The setter's defensive efforts included two blocks and just under three digs per set. On top of that, Johnson recently set a program record for career assists, as she now sits at 3,005 and counting.

Miller was a defensive mainstay last week, fueling the weekend with a feisty 4.08 digs per set as the Sabercats took home the three Midwest Region wins. Miller passed a near-perfect serve receive, having just two miscues in 60 attempts.

The Sabercats turn their attention to a home week of NCCAA Midwest Region competition, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup tomorrow against Emmaus.
