THE LEAD
WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats saw a comfortable 2-set lead slip away to a spirited comeback from Marian University on Senior Night.
MBU seemed to be repeating their 3-0 win over Marian from September, as the Sabercats cruised out to 25-16 and 25-15 wins in the first 2 sets.
It was not to be, though. The Sabres posted a gritty comeback to take away the 5-set win in the MBU Gymnasium, which was capped off with a dramatic 17-15 win in the final set.
This was the Sabres' first win over Maranatha since the 2011 season. Since then, Maranatha leads the series, 7-2. With the loss, the Sabercats drop back to .500 on the year.
