Sabercats Land Multiple AD3I Selections for 2017 Fall Season
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Association of Division III Independents has released the 2017 fall All-Independent selections, and 14 Sabercats have made the cut, as voted on by AD3I members.
Katie Bender highlights the selections, as she was voted Libero of the Year. Bender led the Association in digs and earns the first-team honor for the second season running.
Regina DeLozier was honored as the AD3I Coach of the Year. This is the second consecutive year that DeLozier has received the award. The recognition comes two weeks after DeLozier was named as the NCCAA North Region Coach of the Year.
This is the fifth consecutive season that Maranatha has placed 10 or more student-athletes on the All-Independent lists. This streak extends back to when MBU joined the AD3I in 2013.
Twelve Sabercats made the first team this year. This is the largest group of fall student-athletes from MBU that have made that list.
