THE LEAD

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- The Sabercats were simply unstoppable in a 3-set dispatching of Mount Mary University.

Alexis Bueltel tallied 13 kills on the night, and the Sabercats held Mount Mary to 22 points in the three sets combined.

THE STORY

The Sabercats faced a scrappy Blue Angels side early on, as Mount Mary stayed close throughout the opening exchanges. The Sabercats began to pull away, however, as 5 kills each from Claire Hansel and Bueltel fueled a breakaway performance through the rest of the opener.

From then on, the Sabercats cruised to an easy win of the match, as their defense - led by Kelsey Johnson and Katie Bender - allowed just 9 points over the last 2 sets combined. Offensively, the Sabercats had just 1 hitting error in the last two sets, as a precise attack earned 20 kills in the last two sets combined.

The Sabercats did well to force errors from the Blue Angels, who registered 34 errors over the course of the match.

THE NUMBERS

The Sabercats boasted a .382 attack percentage on the night, as their 35 kills significantly outweighed their 6 errors.

Johnson logged 15 assists and 15 digs on the night.

Hansel had 7 kills and 0 errors on the night.

Jessice Ureke pitched in 7 kills of her own.

THE CALENDAR
