Record-Tying 23 Sabercats Earn Scholar-Athlete Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Scholar-Athlete selections have been announced by the National Christian College Athletic Association, and 23 Maranatha student-athletes have earned the honor for the fall season. The mark of 23 ties Maranatha's highest mark on the NCCAA Scholar-Athlete listings.

To earn Scholar-Athlete status, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student making normal progress toward a degree while maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40 on a 4.00 scale.

Men's Soccer topped the list with 9 student-athletes and Men's Cross Country was close behind with 5. Both teams made Maranatha the most-represented school in the NCCAA DII for the respective sports.
