STORY

It was a full house tonight in the Maranatha gymnasium as the Sabercats took to their home court for the first time this season. The energy of the student section seemed to frazzle the Inferno. The players struggled to stay out of the net, their passes couldn't find the setter, and their hits refused to stay in bounds. Maranatha did not make things any easier for the already struggling Alverno. The Sabercats' front row, led by Bumpus and Kemlo kept them on their toes, by mixing in a good variety of attacks and tips. Maranatha finished off Alverno 25-13 in the first set.

In the sets that followed, Alverno fought to stay a little closer to Maranatha. But the Sabercats assured their fans they had things under control. Miller and Bates both had an exceptional night serving the ball. They finished the game with a combined 10 Aces. Caitrin Kemlo led the Sabercats in the hitting department with a total of 12 Kills on the night. Mattie Bumpus chipped in another 7 kills and added 3 blocks.

With the help of these players, the Sabercats cut the night short and finished Alverno off in the final two sets (25-17) & (25-19).
