Bumpus Named Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Mattie Bumpus led the Sabercats through their longest winning streak in eight seasons, and graduate has earned the Pizza Ranch Student-Athlete of the Month Award - an in-house award from Maranatha Athletics.
Bumpus, a middle blocker from Covington, Indiana, helped Maranatha to 10 straight wins to start the month, including four wins against NCCAA-DII-Top-Ten teams. Bumpus averaged 3.62 kills/set, 0.77 digs/set and 0.83 blocks/set as she led the Sabercats to a 14-match winning streak - their longest since the 2014 season.
The Sabercats went 12-1 on the month, seeing the streak snapped with a 3-0 loss to Alma on October 21.
