Shepard Tabbed AD3I Player of the Week
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --- Sabercats guard Micah Shepard (Little Rock, Ark.) was named the men's basketball student-athlete of the week for the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I), the league office announced this morning.
Shepard was the standout performer for the Sabercats in their 71-75 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, as the junior knocked down 32 points, including 28 in the second half. The 32-point tally was a career high for Shepard, who also brought down three rebounds on the night.
The award comes on the heels of Shepard's NCCAA weekly honor, which came after his previous career-best 28 points in a 90-59 win over Dayspring Bible College Jan. 7.
The honor for Shepard is the first time this season that a player from MBU Men's Basketball has received the weekly honor from the AD3I. So far, Shepard has amassed 204 points on the Year.
